Bossa Lined Walnut & Bondi Olive Grey

Rich walnut, muted olive cabinetry and sculptural lighting give this Kew kitchen its distinctive character.

Behind the calm exterior, storage and appliances have been carefully worked into the architecture of the room.

The starting point here is contrast. LEICHT Bossa cabinetry brings a strongly textured walnut grain to the tall run and island, while smooth Bondi units in Olive Grey provide a quieter counterpoint. A dark stone worktop and splashback run between the two, with integrated lighting bringing out its surface after dark.

Rather than spreading the appliances around the kitchen, the ovens and twin Caple wine coolers are built into the walnut cabinetry, becoming part of a single architectural wall. Elsewhere, storage is kept deliberately discreet. A pocket-door cabinet can be opened up when it’s needed and closed away again, while deep internal drawers keep everyday ingredients organised and immediately accessible.

At the centre of the room, the island provides a generous preparation and cooking space, with a BORA Professional hob keeping the view above it free from conventional extraction. The stone continues down the end of the island, framing the walnut beneath.

With the garden opening almost completely alongside the kitchen, there’s already an unusual sense of space and light. The dramatic pendant lighting adds another layer, turning the kitchen into part of a much wider interior rather than an isolated working area.
