Nobilia Handle-less Concrete Kitchen Twickenham
Nobilia Handle-less Concrete Kitchen, Twickenham
RIVA Concrete Grey Reproduction and LASER Mineral Grey
This attractive colour scheme is the result of a clever combination between two different grey fronts: the RIVA concrete grey reproduction and the LASER mineral grey, by German manufacture Nobilia. The two shades blend in harmoniously and create a space filled with sophistication and glamour.
Subtle Layers of Grey
The different layers of grey graduate to white through different materials and finishes, defining the style and transforming the space, adding character, individuality and timeless elegance.
The changes in shade happen in a gradual and balanced manner. It begins with the light textured concrete grey from the wall units, working through the refined and minimalist bespoke grey from the glass splashback and finally reaches the darker mineral grey from the base units. The stainless-steel appliances add to the concept. The double oven, from Siemens, is built-in and at very convenient high. The free-standing American fridge-freezer stands in proudly next to the tall units. The cabinets are handleless, outlining the style that is clean, uncluttered and streamlined. The grey tones are accentuated by the contrasting polished white from the worktop, which also helps to break up the continuous run of the leading colour and highlights the different zones within the Kitchen. The Siemens induction hob sits straight on the island. The ceiling extractor hood, also from Siemens, complements the cooking zone in a discrete manner, adding a professional look, without obstructing or disturbing the open plan feel. The colour scheme is further complemented by the nature inspired browns of the wooden floor, bringing in an organic aspect, and adding an undeniable touch of warmth to the whole project.
An Outstanding Island
The island takes centre stage in a striking shade of grey, contrasting with the shiny white worktop and the lighter concrete fronts from the wall and tall cabinets.
The worktop of choice for this project is the fantastic quartz base material Blanco Maple, from Silestone. The warm shades of grey tie in perfectly with the bright, smooth and silky worktop surface. Having the overhang on the island helps to define the island as an attractive focal point. But it does more than that. It increases the counter surface area of the Kitchen, at the same time allowing for comfortable seating with appreciated legroom space beneath the countertop. Finally, the exposed wine rack adds a personal touch and a general homely feel to the entire room.
The Distinctive Decor
This décor is extremely versatile, as wall units, tall units and base units can be pooled together beautifully with different variations of the same colour. From the crispy white tone of the quartz worktop to the more metallic tones of the electric appliances. From the neutral shade of the glass splashback to the textured Concrete effect Kitchen fronts. The base cabinets in a bolder tone than the wall cabinets work well for the Kitchen and prevent it looking top heavy. The key is to emphasise, dilute and create texture, all by playfully matching and pairing different tones of the same colour.
Aesthetic and functional Kitchen aspects have been enhanced by the addition of a Fusion Square Quooker tap, selected in chrome finish to complement the undermount sink. This special finishing touch not only frees valuable working surface and provides abundant boiling water at the push-and-turn of a handle, but it also permits everyday tasks to be executed with a bit more ease…and it looks fabulous.
